The Elkhorn River is a beautiful scenic river in Nebraska that originates from the Sandhill in north central Nebraska and flow southeast where it eventually dumps into the Platte river near Gretna. The average channel water flows at a depth of 3.5 ft. Some channel water is deeper than 6 ft so caution is recommended. Underwater trees that you cannot see are in these channels. If your dangling your feet down in deep water beware of trees or branches that you can get stuck in and you could be pulled under. It’s best to sit in your tube with your feet online the water or lay across it. Don’t get out in deeper water and don’t hang on the tube with your legs dragging the bottom. People have gotten hung up and pulled under. Shoes with shoelaces are not recommended because they can get tangled in trees.

Safety Attention: PFD’s (life jackets) are considered mandatory for ALL Tuber Renters (Minors and Adults). Removal of PFD’s while on the water is dangerous and can result in bodily injury or death.
